Yep, there are definitely some systems with what I would call excessively-frequent ad postings. I have mine set to autopost
every 10 days, which seems reasonable to me.
As noted, I figure once a month is sufficient. If they want to
logon to my BBS, they will. I'd rather have quality of users than
quantity of users.
Yes, I'd say there are some echos that shouldn't have
autoposts.
At least with the Today In History ones, they recycle on a yearly
basis, and not the same post every day.
My point to the OP was that his "ad" didn't even have any
content, and he doesn't even realize it. Also I think his
domain/address has changed compared to what is in the ad's
origin line.
I saw that post...just a line at the top, and nothing else.
Unfortunately, at least in my opinion, there are more than a
few "BBSes" that get started up and then not checked or looked
at for weeks/months at a time. That's not what being a Sysop
is all about.
Exactly. If I do nothing else on the BBS, I take care of the
messages first...the doorgames and the rest of it can wait.
... Gone crazy, be back later, please leave message.
I saw a meme with Santa Claus, that noted "I've been watching
you all year. You're not just naughty...you're mentally disturbed".
I told a lady friend "Damn...we've been found out". <G>
